SCENES FROM A WEEKEND

Happy Monday! Our weekend was full of parties. If you follow me on Instagram (@junenovember) you know that I was suppose to be doing a Whole14. It turns out that party food and drinks are not Whole30 complient. #doover.

We started the weekend with a Cub Scout Halloween Carnival. The boys came up with the games and it was a lot of fun for the kids. Scouting is important to us, and I'm glad that Dylan likes it so much. He's got a great group of boys and adults in this Troop.

I made this birthday chalkboard for our friend's party. I love how it turned out! It was a super fun time. I mean, there were hats so that pretty much makes a party, am I right?

I'm so fortunate to have found this group of people. When you move a lot, the worst part is saying goodbye to friends. But the best part is making new ones where ever you go.

I feel like this tree should be the poster child for fall. Is it weird to have a favorite tree? I just feel all shades of Anne of Green Gables optimism when I see things like this.
"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

And finally...she dresses herself. Saturdays are super.

Cheers to a fabulous week!

A FROZEN BIRTHDAY

Blurry, but adorbs.

My daughter is obsessed with Frozen, so naturally, when we asked her what kind of birthday party she wanted, it was "A Frozen birthday!!!"

But, she had specifics.

"Ice Castle Cake. Blue with purple flags. Three of them".

"Olaf BALLOON!!"

"Carrots for Sven!"

"Play dough!" (Really?? We used it as a favor.)

I've found that with a group of little kids, one game and a craft is sufficient for a party. They acted out scenes from Frozen outside in our playhouse as their "game" and for a craft we built snowmen from marshmallows, pretzels, and candied orange slices. I just set up a station and let the kids work on them throughout the party.

The kids loved it.

Ava had a fantastic time and the party turned out perfect. Happy birthday, baby girl!

SETTING THE TABLE FOR AFTERNOON TEA

I recently hosted a grown-up afternoon tea party. The ladies wore dresses, we used good china, fresh flowers filled the table, and hot tea and sparkling water in our cups. Finger sandwiches, cakes and cookies, and fresh fruit on our plates. Add a dose of good conversation and lots of laughter.  A lovely afternoon.
